Become a Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor
Candidates should have knowledge of basic level, lay rescuer First Aid and CPR/AED (Adult, Child, and Infant) and must pass both written and practical skills test for this course; there is no coaching or review at the Pre-test session.
A high level of proficiency on the skills and written pre-tests (80% or more) will determine whether a candidate can advance to the actual Instructor Course.
Before the Instructor Course, candidates can "Audit" a community course to review skills. Contact the Health & Safety Services Department for upcoming community course dates.

Please register at least one week in advance. When you register, you are automatically enrolled and should be in attendance at the class. Enrollment is on a first-come, first-serve basis, until the class is filled to capacity. You may be sent a confirmation of training by phone, email or flyer. The Red Cross reserves the right to cancel a class with fewer than six participants registered, or in case of inclement weather. You will also be notified if the class is canceled. To become certified as an instructor, you must attend each full session. You will be issued a card verifying your participation once the class is complete. Due to accounting procedures, refunds are not issued on books, materials, equipment or courses unless the course is cancelled and our office contacts you. Requests to reschedule course date will be accepted only once, and will be subject to the appropriate fees to reschedule for this particular course. If a participant misses any part of all of a session in this program, they will no longer be able to continue in the current course and will be subject to re-enroll in a course at a later date and pay the appropriate fees. |
